Seeking Volunteers to Join This Biodiversity Mission

Cap off the summer by joining the Cape Cod BioBlitz for a day-long effort to identify as many species of plants and wildlife as possible. The event will provide a fascinating snapshot of the biodiversity at Cold Brook Preserve since the completion of a recent eco-restoration project. Think of it as a wildlife treasure hunt.

Volunteers should be comfortable walking off-trail through brush and high grasses, so please dress accordingly and perform tick checks afterward. Aquatic identification may also involve wading into the water, so please wear waders or water shoes and clothing that can get wet. Participants should also have a smartphone capable of using the iNaturalist app.

Celebrating Don Schall

The Cape Cod BioBlitz will also honor the late Don Schall a highly-respected botanist, wetlands scientist, teacher, and mentor whose life and work were deeply rooted in the natural landscapes of the Cape.
