Description: This workshop will Introduce participants to advanced methods of photographing and identifying larval amphibians based on external characteristics, phenology and ecological setting. The workshop will include a presentation on taxonomy, diversity and life history of larval amphibians in the northeast followed by a Q&A. In addition, participants will examine specimens through a camera mounted on a microscope to review the primary characteristics used to identify each genera. Finally, participants will examine a series of tadpoles and larval salamanders and review identifying characteristics using images from specimens examined previously.
Workshop is limited to 8 participants. A waitlist will be created if interest exceeds available slots.
