AMWS continues its Challenging Delineation Workshop series with Tom Peragallo, Senior Soil Scientist at LEC Environmental Consultants, Inc., at the Townsend State Forest. This time, we will focus on delineating wetlands on the cusp of the growing season, when a lack of groundcover plants and saturated soil conditions can make for a head-scratching day in the field. Tom will review soil morphology and the chemical processes that result in hydric soil conditions and how to approach wetland delineation in the early Spring. Students will delineate wetland boundaries and review/discuss the delineations—plan to bring a lunch. AMWS Board members Rich Kirby and Scott Smyers will co-instruct. We hope you will join us for this unique learning opportunity.
