Description: This workshop will entail a partial morning indoor session devoted to river morphology and its relationship to the Bank and Riverfront Area definitions and critical characteristics, followed by a field session that involves a meander survey along both sides of a perennial river where significant variation exists in terms of bankfull indicators and the adjacent resources. Participants will field locate the Bank and mean annual high-water line (MAHWL) at various reaches of the river to test their field determination skills. The exercise is intended to highlight different scenarios where Bank and MAHWL Line are coinciding versus geographically separated.
